EN(dur)ANCE by Robin Gudal
What’s your story? Most of us have an innate desire within us to be heard and validated from time to time. We read, watch movies, have coffee-time conversations and even turn on a game show when we wish to hear the person’s story prior to the competition. Connectivity is important.
I have a simple story:
I was born, lived in a middle-class family that loved me, surrounded by extended family that cared and encouraged me. My life hasn’t been tragic or majorly difficult. Before you wonder if I have lived in a fairyland bubble, no, I have had hardship, disappointments and sadness, likely as have you. But I haven’t experienced some of the heartaches others I know have.
“Often one’s path can be more difficult than most anticipated, but God’s faithfulness to deliver and sustain is more present than most realize. We can trust in a God who was faithful before our stories began. Your heaven-bound story is exactly what He has written in order for you to find him a mighty fortress.” — Pilgrim, Ruth Chou Simons
“An umbrella cannot stop the rain, but it allows us to stand in the rain. Faith in God may not remove our trials, but it gives us strength to overcome them.” — Unknown, found on The Cool Shady Tree Facebook page
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” — Psalm 18:2, NIV
Do you know and lean into Jesus for all your life and the story you have been given? He is the creator of all, and he desires to be the author of your story/life!
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” — Deuteronomy 6:5, NIV
