Boomstick Bash for St. Jude
Support a great cause from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Albert Lea Moose Lodge 1703 — Chapter 1364. There will be boomstick raffles, meat raffles and 50/50 raffles along with horse races, a live and silent auction, and food and drink baskets. All proceeds will go to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Papa J birthday bash at 112 on Broadway
Join Emmy winner and local musician Papa J for a birthday celebration at 6:30 p.m. Friday at 112 on Broadway. It will be an evening of music and good company.

Country hoedown at American Legion
Join the Albert Lea American Legion Post 56 for a country hoedown Saturday at the Legion.
Pulled pork or beef sandwiches with calico beans and chips will be served from 5 to 7 p.m., and the dance will start at 7 p.m. The Music Men will DJ the event. Guests are invited to wear cowboy hats, cowboy boots and other Western style clothes.

Fish fry at St. Theodore
St. Theodore Catholic Church will host a fish fry from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church. There will be fish, baked or mashed potatoes, coleslaw, a roll, ice cream and a beverage with takeout boxes available. Tickets will be $17 at the door. Advance tickets are $15 and available at the school or parish offices.

Geneva Bar and Grill Yahtzee tournament
There will be a Yahtzee tournament Saturday at the Geneva Bar and Grill at 101 W. Main St. in Geneva. Both experts and new players are welcome. Those who register by Friday will be entered for a chance to win a gift certificate to the bar and grill. Registration at the door will begin at 2 p.m. with the competition kicking off at 3 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
