Daphney Maras, city clerk for the city of Albert Lea, earned her Minnesota Master Municipal Clerk certification from the Minnesota Clerks and Finance Officers Association on Feb. 20. Maras currently serves as the Secretary on the MCFOA board of directors.

The MCFOA was established in 1937 to promote professional standards for city clerks and finance officers. Today, the Association is 900-plus members strong and provides educational and networking opportunities through regional meetings, its annual conference and continuing education workshops for its certification programs.

Maras has been employed by the city of Albert Lea since 2017. Maras earned the designation of Minnesota Certified Municipal Clerk (MCMC) from the MCFOA in 2018. She also holds the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).
