A blizzard warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday for Freeborn County as additional snow accumulation and heavy winds are creating blizzard conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. People should plan on slippery road conditions.
Total snow accumulations of between 3 and 7 inches were expected in the area, with the heaviest snow expected to fall from south central Minnesota into western Wisconsin.
The weather agency advises areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and states travel should be restricted to emergencies only.
