Organization: Life Center of Freeborn County
Project: Educational classes and experiences; socialization; recreational sporting experiences and events
Report: The LIFE Center is grateful for the Freeborn County Communities Foundation’s generosity and on behalf of nearly 140 members and the board of LIFE Center of Freeborn County thanks the foundation for the 2024 donation of $10,000.
The LIFE Center of Freeborn County continues to offer programming and services to promote learning, inclusion and empowerment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Funds will go to three areas of programs, which include staffing, supplies and overhead:
• Educational classes and experiences, $2,500
• Socialization at the center, $3,000
• Recreational/sporting experiences and events, $4,500
To run a center for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, your funding has provided services that promote integration and inclusion, information and education within the community. Some members seek life skills to be self-sufficient in attaining employment and live independently while others need the programming as they are dependent on health care and in group homes, seeking enhancement on daily living. The organization thanks the foundation for making that possible.
