Organization: STARS Mentoring
Project: Empowering at-risk Freeborn and Faribault County youth to make positive life choices by providing guidance and support from a caring adult mentor.
Report: STARS Mentoring thanks FCCF for donating $10,000 to the organization. It will give them the opportunity to strengthen the community by giving children the connections, support and opportunities they need for a sense of well-being about their lives and futures.
Funds from this grant will go to five areas of programming:
• Director time, $8,424
• Mileage reimbursement for interviews, recruiting and renewals, $681.20
• Background checks on volunteers, $562.50
• Office supplies, $507
• Mentor-mentee group activities, $1,100
STARS Mentoring collaborates with Freeborn County agencies, nonprofits and other organizations. The program also would not be able to exist without dedicated volunteers.
