Organization: South Central MN Youth for Christ
Project: Various
Report: Youth for Christ’s main target age range is youth ages 11 to 19. The organization runs Campus Life Clubs as well as City Life Programs to love, listen, share faith, food, games and support. They want to help youth in whatever ways they can. The programs teach skills in different areas such as cooking, art, music, maintenance, etc.
Their goal is to reach kids, change lives and develop leaders. They reach kids, serve meals, give out clothing, meet other physical needs, help with homework, provide rides to school, encourage, listen and provide scholarship opportunities for camps, trips and events. Their mission is to reach young people everywhere by working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus Christ, who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.
Their youth center, The Rock, is open each weekday from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., and is where youth come to spend some or all their afternoon. Each day, a free meal and snacks are provided. Staff plan activities with the young people each week.
