In the Thursday, March 6, edition of the Minnesota Star Tribune, a letter to the editor was published that stated that every Democrat in the room during the recent POTUS speech in Congress should have stood up like Texas Rep. Al Green and interrupted the speech.
Why give any respect to this administration that is cutting services that impact the vulnerable and poor in this country? As the writer said, “These are unprecedented times — we have to stop being polite …” Why give in to hate and intolerance?
Stand up against the meanness that is being celebrated in our country. Stand up for human rights (i.e. civil rights) for all citizens in this country. Stand up for the citizens of Ukraine that (contrary to what the POTUS said) were invaded by Russia three years ago in an attempt to take land by force.
Why aren’t Minnesota Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith and other politicians trying to stop this unprecedented takeover of our government? How can we let administration officials give “Nazi” salutes in their speeches? Why are businesses pulling back from support of civil rights?
All these actions by the administration hurt citizens of this country.
