I watched the president’s address to the joint session of Congress last evening. I thought the behavior of the Democrats was despicable. The address had barely started when the radical Al Green began shouting uncontrollably while waving his cane in the air. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson finally had to have the sergeant at arms remove him after being duly warned to stop.
Early in the address, a 13-year-old survivor of brain cancer was acknowledged by the president and awarded a symbolic membership in the Secret Service. While many were tearfully cheering for this brave young man, there was only long-faced silence from the Democratic aisle. Moments later, former high school volleyball player Payton McNabb was recognized for having received permanent injuries following a blow to the face by a transgender opponent. The result of her injuries were a concussion, brain bleed and permanent whiplash. Apparently to the radical Democrats, they have a big problem with Trump and nearly 80% of Americans who feel like men should not be allowed to play in women’s sports. As Payton stood and was cheered by the Republican caucus, there was nothing but silence from the Democratic aisle.
Two other assault and murder victims at the hands of illegal Venezuelan nationals were also recognized by the President. One was Laken Riley, a 22-year-old Augusta University nursing student, and the other was 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, from Houston, Texas. Apparently, the president, half of Congress and the large majority of Americans are wrong to believe that we should protect our citizens from criminals who cross our borders illegally. Once again, instead of siding with plain common sense, the Democratic caucus sat on their hands in silence! What a disgrace.
When it becomes more about hating the person that the majority of the country elected than showing support for citizens who have suffered and died, it is time that the once proud Democratic Party do some serious soul-searching. It should start with a total repudiation of the radical left that has taken over the party. If they choose to ignore this advice, they will have to get used to losing more elections in the future.
