Robert William Probst was born in Wilmont, MN on Dec 13, 1945, to Joseph G. Sr and Marcella M. (Hebig) Probst. He attended and graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) Catholic School in Wilmont in 1963. In 1965 Bob moved with his family to Albert Lea, MN where he worked at Streater Inc for 42 years.
Bob married Connie Rose Larson on August 19, 1967, at OLGC Catholic Church in Wilmont. God blessed their marriage with two children, Jodi Ann and Chris Robert.
Bob was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for over 55 years and an active member of the Big Island Rendezvous for over 25 years.
He loved working with tools and was a gifted mechanic. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman his entire life. He enjoyed playing games with family and friends including golf, bowling and yard games, especially horseshoes. Bob cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, surrounded by is family. He is survived by his wife Connie, his daughter Jodi (Troy Schmidtke) Lawton of Hudson, WI, grandsons Scott and Dan, his son Chris (Mindy Bawek) Probst of Austin, MN, grandchildren Cassidy (Bryan) Christensen, Alec, and Noah, great grandchildren Brantley and Bryson; Bob’s brother Dick (Mary) Probst, sister–in–law Wanda Probst, sister–in–law Elaine (Jerry) Hay, brother–in–law Gene (Ruth) Larson, Frank (Twyla) Larson, John (Kari) Larson, Dale Larson, Doug Larson, loved nieces and nephews. Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Michael and Joseph, Jr, and Connie’s parents.
A funeral service will be held at St Theodore’s Catholic Church in Albert Lea, MN on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Kurt Farrell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will be served at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Theodore’s Catholic Church or School of Albert Lea, MN or to the charity of your choice.
