Are you a puzzle person? Did you know “puzzles offer a myriad of benefits to our brains, from enhancing our cognitive abilities to boosting memory and problem-solving skills, to teaching us valuable life skills like persistence?” — Enhancingbrain.com

I love puzzles! Years ago, Greggy and I went for a special retreat weekend up north and they had a puzzle out in the sunroom. It immediately connected us to the handful of strangers from all walks of life as we worked together for a common goal.

Here’s a laughter moment: “I don’t mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in one day and the box said 2-4 years.” — Coolfunnyquotes.com

There are puzzle clubs, puzzle subscriptions, timed puzzle contests and often at resorts, nursing homes etc. you will see a communal puzzle space. Puzzles bring us together.

This month is a special month in our house — its Greggy, my husband’s, birthday and I think the analogy of a puzzle is a good description of the two of us. We just fit! We don’t always agree — we have different approaches, and we can be water and oil sometimes — but in the important things we fit.

As we navigate life together, we complement one another. We don’t have to force things like forcing pieces of a puzzle to fit where we want them too. We just work; and at the end of the day, we make a beautiful life together.

I am so thankful and blessed. I love you, Greggy, and pray you have an amazing celebration of your birth.

“For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” — Psalm 139:13-14, NIV
