A strong low-pressure storm system is expected to move into the area Friday, bringing with it possible severe weather to southern Minnesota.

The system is expected to start as rain Friday evening before transitioning to snow through Saturday evening.

Near-record high temperatures are expected for Albert Lea on Friday in the lower 70s, and scattered strong to severe storms, with possible high wind and hail, are possible in the evening. The current timeframe of concern is 6 to 11 p.m.
