At Hawthorne Elementary, we’re creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. This past month, we focused on friendship, family engagement and academic growth.
Friendship Fest: Fun and connection
Our first Friendship Fest was a hit. Students rotated through fun stations designed to build friendships and teamwork, making for a joyful and memorable day.
Family Movie Night
We hosted our first Family Movie Night, bringing families together for a fun-filled evening. While we’re refining logistics, the event was a great success.
Caregiver conferences
Our caregiver conferences celebrated each student’s academic and social-emotional progress. We appreciate the strong partnership between families and our school.
Wit & Wisdom: Module 3 Highlights
Students are diving into new learning with Module 3 of Wit & Wisdom:
- Kindergarten: America, then and now – How has life in America changed over time?
- First: Powerful forces – How do people respond to the wind?
- Second: Civil rights heroes – How can people respond to injustice?
- Third: A new home – How do stories help us understand immigration?
- Fourth: The Redcoats are coming? – Why understand all sides of a story?
- Fifth: A war between us – How did the Civil War impact people?
Through these engaging lessons, students are developing critical thinking and making meaningful connections.
Thank you to our students, families and staff for making Hawthorne a place where everyone belongs!
