Warren Lenz Sr.

Warren was born on September 24, 1934, to Orville and Myrtle Lenz in Albert Lea, MN. He attended Albert Lea High School. In July of 1955, he enlisted in the Army, where he attended Guided Missile School at Fort Bliss, Texas, and then served at White Sands Missile Range near Alamogordo, New Mexico. Warren was united in marriage to Barbara Levens on November 25, 1955, at Fort Sill, OK. After his service, they returned to the Albert Lea area.

Warren was a man who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed a good laugh and was always ready for a fun practical joke. His passion for the outdoors was evident, whether riding through the state park, chatting with people as he cruised through town, or tending to his beautiful gardens. His love for nature extended to photography, capturing the beauty around him. Warren was generous with his time and always quick to lend a helping hand to both friends and strangers alike. He was an active member of his church and had a deep and abiding relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Warren is survived by his children Marian (Steven) Roche, Kathleen Berning, Warren (Desireé) Lenz, Cheryl (Robert) Somnis, and David (Naomi) Lenz; grandchildren Kevin Nelson, Michelle Neeley, Heidi Roche, Whitney Roche, Christian Roche, Elizabeth Ellis, Jared Berning, Trinity Overgaard, Alyssa Somnis, Angel Somnis, Inara Lenz, Elias Lenz, Steven Lenz, Chelsey Haroldson, Karter Sherman, Brookelynn Lenz, Jayde Lenz, and Emma Lenz; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters Betty Paul, Phylis Champ, and Lois Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Lenz; son Allen Edward Lenz; parents Orville and Myrtle Lenz; granddaughter Virginia Ann Somnis; and sister Janet Larson.
