Across the Pastor’s Desk by George Marin
“Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” — Psalms 119:89
The God of the Bible speaks eternally to all who will listen. He speaks eternally to all through his word, the Holy Bible. His word is forever settled in heaven.
In the words of the psalmist in Psalm 119:105: “His word is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path.”
His word is the very foundation upon which we can build and establish our lives. From generation to generation, his word is real, alive and relevant.
God’s word never goes out of style. Many have tried to discount it, deny it, neglect it and refute it, but it stands alone — whether one believes it or not.
Jesus spoke clearly of the lasting power of his words.
He said, “Everyone who hears my words and obeys them will be like the person who built his house upon the rock. When the rains, winds and floods came, it stood strong.
But anyone who hears and does not obey will be like the person who built his house upon the sand. when the rains, winds and floods came, it fell down hard,” — Luke 6.
When we read, listen to, and obey God’s eternal word, our lives will reap great benefits, and those benefits will last from generation to generation.
God’s word is both a road map by which we navigate our lives in all seasons, and it is our manual for true living.
I encourage you to dive into God’s word and live by it. Build your life upon it; it is a firm foundation. If you do this, you will experience the great benefits it will produce in your life.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” — Matthew 24:35.
I love you — I’m in your corner!
