Administrator’s Corner by Zack Kruger
At Lakeview, every hallway, every classroom and every shared space tells a story — not just of learning, but of connection, compassion and commitment. While headlines often focus on test scores and benchmarks, we know the real magic of school is found in everyday moments, shaped by the actions and hearts of many.
From the moment our doors open in the morning, students are welcomed with smiles — sometimes from a teacher, other times from a paraeducator, educational assistant or even our custodian whose friendly hello sets the tone for a positive day. These moments might seem small, but they send a powerful message: You are seen, you are valued and you belong here.
Our front office staff are often the first faces students and families see each day, and they set the tone with warmth and care. They greet students by name, hand out ice packs and band-aids with gentle reassurance and create an environment that feels safe and welcoming — for both students and staff. Their calm, caring presence anchors our building and makes a big difference in the flow of every school day.
In the lunchroom, kindness is served right alongside each meal. Our food service team does so much more than prepare food — they know students by name, check in when someone’s having a hard day and take time to connect. Their care reaches far beyond the lunch line.
Our teachers pour themselves into creating classrooms that are rigorous, inclusive and joyful. But their work doesn’t stop there. They are mentors, encouragers and trusted adults — making sure every student knows they’re safe, supported and capable of success.
Our social workers and support staff often work quietly in the background, but their impact is deeply felt. They help students navigate big emotions, walk alongside families and ensure that social, emotional and academic needs are met. Their presence strengthens our entire school community.
Our paraeducators and educational assistants are a constant source of patience and support. Whether helping with reading, guiding transitions or offering calm in a tough moment, they meet students where they’re at and lift them up with care and compassion.
Even dismissal becomes a time of connection — high fives, quick check-ins and waves goodbye that say, “You matter here. We’ll see you tomorrow.”
It truly takes all of us. The strength of our school lies in the collective effort of a team that shows up each day with a shared commitment: helping every child feel known, loved and empowered to grow. Whether it’s through a heartfelt conversation, a steady routine or a well-planned lesson, the impact of our work reaches far beyond the school walls.
Thank you for the heart, dedication and care you bring to our kids each day. You make our school a truly special place.
