The Albert Lea boys’ tennis team was back at home Tuesday against Red Wing.

According to coach Therese Netzer, there were some fantastic matches, and it felt great to have the guys compete and get on the scoreboard.

Kuol Dual had a great day at two singles, losing in a nailbiter by two. Before the tiebreaker, he came back to win the second set after being down 1-6.

Freshman Abe Isaacson also made a huge comeback, being down in the first set, but then rallying in the second and going into a tiebreaker. He played tough.

“It was remarkable to see both Kuol and Abe fight back after being down,” the coach said.

But the big match of the day was at three doubles with Parker Monson and Axel Erickson winning their match. They played with confidence and determination, beating Red Wing 6-3, 6-3.

“We’ve been working so hard for the last two years and it’s so exciting to see our hard work paying off,” she said.
