Albert Lea Cantori will present the 52nd annual spring concert, “For the Beauty,” at 3 p.m. April 27 at United Methodist Church of Albert Lea.

Music of Vaughan-Williams, Brahms, Dvorak, Gjeilo, Hagenberg, Chatman, Rutter, and others will bring sacred and secular music describing the beauty of the earth, heaven, nature and the night. Cantori is a community chorus that claims singers not only from Albert Lea but from Emmons, Bricelyn, Freeborn, Blue Earth, Austin and Hayward. It is a community of singers meeting on a weekly basis for the love of singing in a group, to sing familiar and new pieces of choral music.

Singing strengthens muscles and bones, improves posture, reduces stress and makes you feel happy. Singing unites people, and singing brings joy and sorrow into words that sometimes can be hard to speak. Choirs can also help people feel better, physically and mentally, and it is an activity to look forward to and make new friends.
