An anonymous donor is offering a $1,000 reward leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or people who vandalized Fountain Lake Park earlier this month.
The Albert Lea Police Department announced over the weekend it is seeking the public’s help in identifying witnesses and suspects involved in the vandalism of the park.
The park, at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Fountain Street, sustained damage exceeding $30,000, including broken streetlights, a damaged electrical panel, broken and overturned landscaping and damaged sidewalk and stadium seating marker lights. Rocks, likely used to cause the damage, were scattered across the sidewalk.
“We appreciate the community’s cooperation and support in helping us resolve this case,” police stated. “The offer of this reward demonstrates the community’s commitment to ensuring Albert Lea remains a safe and respectful environment for all.”
Police encourage anyone with information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to come forward. Tips can be submitted to the Albert Lea Police Department at 507-377-5200 or through the anonymous tip line at 507-377-5161.
