In response to Bethany Greiner’s recent letter to the editor regarding the horrific loss of Selena Chandler-Scott’s infant through miscarriage at 19 weeks, it needs to be clarified that Ms. Chandler-Scott was not arrested or charged for having a miscarriage, as Ms. Greiner attempted to frame the incident.

Ms. Chandler-Scott was arrested for disposing of a “human body” in a dumpster, which is indeed a clear legal offense according to Georgia law.

The charge was not because she, sadly, suffered a miscarriage, but for “throwing away or abandonment of a dead body prohibited.”

Ms. Chandler-Scott was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

The infant, in a plastic bag, was retrieved from the dumpster.

This is not a pro-abortion/pro-life incident, as Ms. Greiner shaped her article. This is not about women that suffer a miscarriage being charged for having a miscarriage.

That is not at all what occurred.

The fact is she was charged for disposing of a dead body in a dumpster, which is against Georgia law.

Additionally, Ms. Greiner brought up the procedure, D&C. It needs to be noted here that this procedure is not illegal in any state unless it’s intentionally used to kill a child in the womb.
