Man arrested for DWI after running into pole, leading to power outage and other reports

Power was out for over 1,000 customers in southwestern Albert Lea late Saturday night and early Sunday morning after a man reportedly crashed into a power pole at 11:58 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of South Broadway and West Ninth Street.
Police stated Steven Eugene Essay was arrested for third-degree driving while intoxicated.
1 arrested on warrant
Deputies arrested Tony Lynn Personius on a Clay County warrant at 10:34 am. Friday at 411 S. Broadway.
Burglary reported
Deputies received a report at 10:04 a.m. Saturday of a burglary at 23147 Bluegrass Road.
Assault reported
Police received a report at 11:40 a.m. Friday of an assault that occurred on Wednesday evening at 139 E. William St.
Woman arrested for burglary
Police arrested Meranda Lynn O’Connor, 42, for second-degree burglary at 8:15 p.m. Friday near James Avenue and East Seventh Street.
Scooter reported stolen, recovered
Police received a report at 8:42 p.m. Friday of a scooter that was stolen earlier in the afternoon at 116 W. Clark St. It was later recovered near the state park.
1 arrested for DWI
Police arrested Khu April Soe for third-degree driving while intoxicated and open container violation after a traffic stop at 1:35 a.m. Saturday near Water Street and North Washington Avenue.
Trailer reported stolen
A utility trailer was reported stolen at 9 a.m. Saturday at 1516 Ashley Court. It had been taken sometime the previous weekend.
Check forgery reported
Police received a report at 2:09 p.m. Saturday of check forgery on South Newton Avenue. A check was reportedly stolen from a house and then written out and used.
Money, card stolen from wallet
Money and a debit card were reported stolen from a wallet at 9:38 p.m. Saturday at 2550 Bridge Ave.
Man arrested for DWI
Police arrested Troy Anthony Willaby for second-degree driving while intoxicated at 4:31 a.m. Sunday at 130 W. College St.
Card fraud reported
Police received a report of bank card fraud at 1:23 p.m. Sunday at 2400 Consul St.
