Police release name of man killed in fall from Shady Oaks building

Albert Lea police on Tuesday released more information about the individual who died Monday morning after falling out of a window on one of the upper floors of the Shady Oaks apartment building.

The individual has been identified as Todd Earl Goskeson, 54, of Albert Lea.

Police stated Goskeson was found lying on the ground at the base of the building, at 800 S. Fourth Ave. Medical attention was provided to him, but he was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police stated based on the initial investigation, there is no indication of foul play and the circumstances surrounding Goskeson’s death are consistent with apparent suicide.

This remains an active investigation and no further details will be released at this time out of respect for the family, according to police.

There is no ongoing threat to public safety.
