Chalk the Lake Walk

Grab some chalk and head outside for Chalk the Lake Walk. All week, people are invited to draw fun designs, positive messages and games on the Fountain Lake path as well as downtown Albert Lea. When Screen-Free Week is done, participants are invited to post photos of their creations with the hashtag #ChalkTheLakeWalkAL.

Albert Lea Shopping Opener

Visit historic downtown Albert Lea Saturday for the city’s shopping opener, coinciding with Fishing Opener Weekend. Over 15 local shops and restaurants will have specials, including games, samples and treats, door prizes and more.

Cleanup in Lake Mills

Looking to get rid of unwanted items in time for summer? The city of Lake Mills will host spring cleanup for residents beginning Saturday through May 15. During this time, people can drop off eligible items for disposal at the city dump site. Certain items, like appliances and electronics, will need to have stickers to be accepted. Households that pay for garbage collection will be given two free stickers, and additional stickers will be available at City Hall during normal business hours. Geneva’s first farmers market

Join Geneva from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for the city’s first-ever local farmers market. It will be at Geneva Bar and Grill at 101 W. Main St. To celebrate the first day, there will be children’s activities including bounce houses, bubbles, hula hoops and more. The farmers market will continue to be held Saturdays through Sept. 15.
