Friends of the Library book sale

Friends of the Albert Lea Public Library will hold their annual spring book sale Thursday through Saturday in the City Hall Garage near the Fountain Street entrance to City Hall. Thursday will be a members-only preview from 3 to 7 p.m. People are welcome to become a member at the door for $5. The book sale will be open to the general public from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, and there will be a bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. All proceeds from the book sale will go toward programs and equipment for the library.

Immigration presentation

The History Center of Freeborn County will host an informational presentation, “Building America, the Story of Immigration,” and a pizza and puzzles event for the community on Thursday. The immigration presentation begins at 6 p.m. and is free to attend. Guests and individual attendees will be invited to share stories. Pizza and puzzles will be from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be Jake’s Pizza, beverages and puzzles. Admission for the event is $5.

NRHEG’s ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’

The NRHEG Music Department will present “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” this weekend at the NRHEG Secondary Auditorium at 306 Ash Ave. S. in New Richland. There will be shows at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and are available at gofan.co/app/school/MN12954 and at the door.

Community fun night in Lake Mills

Celebrate National Skilled Nursing Care Week with a community fun night hosted by the Lake Mills Care Center from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at 406 S. 10th Ave. E. There will be yard games, bounce houses, live entertainment by Dunnell Lenort, food trucks and more.

Cosmic bingo at Geneva Bar and Grill

Geneva Bar and Grill will host cosmic bingo at 7 p.m. Friday. There will be nine games with three cards per game as well as black hole bingo, and people will play for cash prizes and certificates. Guests are invited to wear neon or glowing attire. DJ Davy will also be at the event to provide music.
