Administrator’s Corner by David Krenz
The 2024-2025 school year has seen a lot of change for the school district, with my position being one.
I came to the position to help transition from a previous superintendent to the beginning of Dr. Heil’s leadership on July 1.
He will bring his own experiences, style and skills to the Albert Lea School District. He is getting to know current members of his team through meetings, phone calls and participating in some of our remaining activities.
He will be able to build on what is currently in place, find new direction where needed to address student needs, and involve staff, parents and community as the vision for School District 241 is developed.
I have tried, in my few short months in the district, to be available, to listen and most importantly allow individuals to be heard. And I know Dr. Heil, as I do, believes the schools are integral to the vitality of the community and with the key to success being the partnership of all community stakeholders.
I want to thank everyone for allowing me to serve you, even for a short time!
David Krenz is interim superintendent of Albert Lea Area Schools.
