Freeborn County town hall meeting slated

Citizens of Albert Lea, greater Freeborn County, and all who are concerned about the current federal government rhetoric and actions are invited to a town hall meeting on May 22.

The event will take place at the Edgewater Bay Pavilion in Edgewater Park in Albert Lea. Music and socializing will begin at 5:30 pm. A food truck will be available for food and refreshments. The town hall meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st District, has been invited to attend this event and to directly respond to questions and concerns from his constituents in an open forum. If Finstad is unable to appear, a video copy of the forum along with all written questions/concerns submitted by participants will be delivered to him.

This event will also feature local and regional speakers who will provide personal insights and firsthand knowledge regarding repercussions of the current administration’s radical restructuring of federal programs. Topics include veterans’ affairs, education, medical assistance, immigration/deportation, tariffs/economy and food insecurity.

This event is free and open to all.
