Kiwanians celebrate student achievement

: MaChar Kingstrom and Jean Pestorious, members of the Albert Lea Noon Kiwanis Club, hand out certificates to students in fifth-grade at Halverson Elementary School this week who achieved their goals as part of the Kiwanis BUG Program (Bringing Up Grades or Goals). The program encourages students to set goals at the beginning of the year, and then the Kiwanians make three visits to the classroom to check-in and then celebrate those who achieved their goals. The Kiwanis Club will have celebrations in two other Albert Lea elementary schools next week. Provided
