After living through more than one local blackout caused by a drunk driver hitting a power pole, I believe the time has come to consider placing “pillows” on the power pole to hopefully prevent any recurrence of this event.
The most recent occurrence was the night of April 12. Some of you may have been aware of the power outage; some of you may have slept through it.
The “pillows” around power poles are usually filled with sand, or sometimes a barrel wrapping the pole is filled with water. Either method will surely reduce the risk of power outages that affect the safety and security of the general public.
Thank you.
