Immigrants have been coming to Freeborn County for more than 100 years seeking a better life, working hard, raising families and starting successful businesses. We enjoy participating in their celebrations and eating food from other cultures. For several decades now, Congress has failed to pass legislation creating a path to citizenship for some of them. In recent months we have heard from the federal government only cruelty, hateful rhetoric and lies about immigrants.
What do immigrants say now? Join us on Thursday, May 15, at 6 p.m. at the History Center of Freeborn County, 1031 Bridge Ave. in Albert Lea to hear and share stories about immigrants.
