Lois Louise was born August 11, 1929, at the family home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Scott M. and Ruth N. (Pletcher) Ellsworth, the third of seven children. She passed away on May 3, at the age of 95. Lois grew up and attended high school in Eagle Grove, IA. She married Milton (Mick) Adams on April 19, 1952, in Eagle Grove. They raised their six children. During their 55 year marriage, they would spend weekends at the cabin, boating, fishing, tubing, and teaching the kids how to waterski. Every so often, they would go out dancing with friends. After the kids were gone, they spent a few months each winter in Arizona. Lois was very active as the kids were growing up, being the taxi taking the boys to hockey practice and being a Girl Scout leader. She also enjoyed being a part of church activities, leading the Ladies Circle for many years, serving luncheons for special occasions. She was a wonderful seamstress, sewing her daughters’ school clothes and expanding into quilting when they left home. The whole family has a collection of her beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge club for over 45 years, saying she either won or finished last. Going with her friend, Betty, they took several bus trips around the country. The big trip was when four ladies, in their 80’s, decided to drive to Alaska! They had a wonderful time and returned with many stories. Also, she never wanted to miss Lois Club lunches. All the ladies’ first name was Lois and everyone had a good laugh when the waitress would ask for their first names to keep the orders straight. When she had quiet time, she would be reading a good mystery book, which she would get from the library when she volunteered there. Her legacy continues through her loving family, children, Laurie Adams (Larry Venem) of Geneva, MN, Becky Adams (Husband Guy Davidson) of Billings, MT, Scott (Trudy) Adams of Albert Lea, MN, Bill (Cheryl) Adams of Brownsdale, MN, Tom (Jodi) Adams of Hollandale, MN, and John (Connie) Adams of Albert Lea, MN, who will celebrate her life and be happy with the memories. Lois is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa (Rob) Jensen, Amy Adams, Blake (Marie) Adams, Sherman Haugland, Matt (Leah) Haugland, Tyler Adams (Allison Thomas), Cali (Hunter) Hoyne, Amanda (Dan) Clennon, and Cole Adams; eleven great-grandchildren, Zoie and Aiden Jensen, Everly and Palmer Adams, Lucas Haugland, Addison and Ava Haugland, Kinley Adams, Bridger Hoyne, Jackson and Addi Clennon; one great-great-granddaughter, Quinn Haugland; sisters-in-law, Lodean Albers, Pat Fisher, Betty (Clarence) Wilde, Marge Ellsworth, Ruth Ellsworth; brothers-in-law, John Fisher, Ronald (Janet) Adams; Mike (Denise) Adams; numerous nieces and nephews.
