Pelican Breeze season opens on Memorial Day weekend

Since 1996 the Pelican Breeze Cruise Boat has been cruising Albert Lea Lake and entertaining people from around the country and the world.

The public cruise season will begin on May 23 and May 25 for the Memorial Day weekend.

Every Friday night at 6 p.m. and every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. until Aug. 31 the public will be able to ride for $15 and see the white pelicans and other wildlife and enjoy the narrated history of the area. Reservations are recommended for the 1-1/2-hour cruise.

New this year is a specialty cruise of the Albert Lea fireworks on July Fourth. This cruise is $20 and leaves the dock at 9 p.m. Reservations are required.

Specialty cruises with the nationally known humorist Al Batt will be at 3:30 p.m. on June 22, July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 17. You’ll laugh at his stories as he educates you on the local birds and wildlife. Specialty cruises are $20 per person. Reservations are required.

Private two-hour cruises will be available for birthdays, anniversaries, company events and even rehearsal dinners and weddings until Sept. 30. Call the Pelican Breeze II for your party needs..

The boat is docked at Frank Hall Park. It is a no smoking vessel, handicap accessible with a restroom on board and seats 55 passengers. Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite snack, lunch or dinner and choice of beverage.
