Join the Sons of Norway for an evening of socializing and dinner, including Norwegian meatballs with all the fixings and cake for dessert.

The organization’s Syttende Mai banquet is May 17, in which the group celebrates the signing of the Norwegian Constitution, Norway’s Independence Day.

At 5 p.m. there will be time to browse a display of the 100 years (1825 to 1925) of Norwegian immigration. At 5:30 p.m. the dining room will open. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with the program to follow.

Ginny Blood will share Norwegian music on her soprano and alto recorders. There will be sing-alongs, and she will share some history of the recorder, the background of the music and her experiences as a Norwegian musician.
