5 things to do this week: Rock garden house tours, glow golf tournament, Thursdays on Fountain and more

Itasca Rock Garden house tours

The History Center of Freeborn County will hold exclusive tours of the historic home at the Isasca Rock Garden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2129 Itasca Road in Albert Lea. This will be to raise money for the rock garden. Tickets are $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers.

An Evening of Music

As part of the Dorothy Godtland Lecture Series, the Albert Lea Art Center will host “An Evening of Music” with Wendy Larson and Tamara Schneider from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Art Center. The musicians will play a variety of genres, including bluegrass, waltzes, ’50s and more. This is a free event.

Thursdays on Fountain with Evan Riley

Alabama-based musician Evan Riley will perform a free concert at this week’s Thursdays on Fountain from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Fountain Lake Park. The young artist rose to fame recently by performing on TikTok. Visit facebook.com/share/v/1G7m4cmyeW/ to get a feel for her music before the show.

Wells glow golf tournament

The Wells Area Chamber of Commerce will host a glow golf tournament  at 8 p.m. Friday at the Wells Golf Course. This evening of fun and games will be a fundraiser for the city to purchase new Christmas decorations. Pre-registration is required and a registration form can be found at facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1253651406765945&set=p.1253651406765945&type=3. This event is open to people age 21 and up. The rain date for the event will be Saturday. Contact the chamber office at 507-553-6450 with questions.

An Evening for the Arts

There will be a fundraiser for the Albert Lea Art Center at 6 p.m. Friday at Moms Bread Co. It will be a gourmet dinner with Caesar salad, choice of filet mignon or chicken cordon bleu, potatoes, green beans, sourdough bread with labneh and dessert. Tickets are $100 per person, and a cash bar will also be available at the event.
