Across the Pastor’s Desk by Charles Alkula

In times of change and uncertainty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. The world moves quickly, and our lives are often filled with challenges that test our faith, patience and resilience.

Yet, even during these challenging periods, there is a constant source of strength and hope that we can turn to: our shared faith and the power of community.

Over the course of my ministry, I have had the privilege of witnessing the beauty of human connection in so many ways. Whether it’s through a kind word, a helping hand or a moment of prayer, I see how we lift one another up and remind each other that we are never alone. These small acts of love and compassion are the foundation of a strong, united community.

This week, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the blessings in your life. Gratitude has a way of shifting our perspective, helping us to see the good even in difficult circumstances.

Perhaps it’s the laughter of a child, the warmth of an early summer breeze or the support of a friend that reminds you of God’s presence in your life.

Let us also remember the importance of extending grace to one another. We all carry burdens that may not be visible to the outside world. Here in our community, there are those who are facing difficulties that are simply overwhelming to that person; challenges in the form of health concerns, financial needs, failing relationships, isolation or in other ways. No one should have to go through this life alone.

A smile, a kind gesture or simply listening can make a profound difference in someone’s day.

As it says in Galatians 6:2, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Together, we can find strength in our faith and in one another. Let us continue to build a community rooted in love, understanding and hope.

May you find peace in your heart and joy in your journey this week. Remember, you are deeply loved and never alone.
