Commerce Bank, in partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines), announced Wednesday that Freeborn County 4-H and NRHEG Public Schools FFA have each received a $10,000 grant from the FHLB Member Impact Fund. This matching grant program is designed to support affordable housing and community development in Minnesota.
Through the Member Impact Fund, Commerce Bank was able to multiply the impact of its donation to support these youth programs.
Commerce Bank believes that strong youth programs are critical for community development.
“I have had a lifelong connection with these two programs as an active Freeborn County 4-H member while growing up in Albert Lea and through my many friendships with area FFA members,” said Commerce Bank CEO Jim Senske. “We are proud to invest in the future of agriculture and the communities that we serve.”
Kris Williams, president and CEO of FHLB Des Moines, said the Member Impact Fund is a powerful resource to support members as they expand access to affordable housing and drive community development.
“It’s inspiring to see the partnerships centered around improving local communities in such a variety of ways,” Williams said.
