A community prayer vigil for clergy members, elected officials and community members will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday at Central Park to remember Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and to pray for DFL Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.

The Hortmans were shot and killed early Saturday, and the Hoffmans are recovering from gunshot wounds. Law enforcement continue to look for the suspect.

According to organizers George and Jill Marin, pastors of Grace Christian Church, the vigil will be a time of prayer, remembrance, honor and solidarity.

In the event of rain, the vigil will be moved to First Presbyterian Church directly across from Central Park.
