Our Congressman, Brad Finstad, voted for the big ugly bill which was mostly orchestrated by terrorists who wrote the Project 2025 manifesto. This is what fascism looks like.
Finstad abdicated his responsibility to protect the Constitution so he could support the unelected terrorist’s Project 2025 manifesto, which describes how to craft illegal and unconstitutional executive orders, plus how Finstad himself can create congressional legislation to destroy Democracy. This is what fascism looks like.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) leadership publicly told us they do not need to follow any judicial decisions. That is what fascism looks like.
DHS trains ICE staff not to follow the law, not to follow the Constitution, to wear masks to hide their identity, not to show any badge identity, to claim they do not need an arrest warrant signed by a judge to physically attack our neighbor/immigrant Mohammed Hogue (the Bangladesh student attending college in Mankato), to physically restrain/handcuff/shoved Mr. Hougue into a black vehicle and then imprisoned him illegally and unconstitutionally. This is what fascism looks like.
Finstad did not condemn this unconstitutional kidnapping happening in his 1st Congressional District. This is what fascism looks like.
The American Civil Liberties Union rescued Mr. Houge, making their case to U.S. District Court Judge Jerry Blackwell, which judge ordered the release of Mr. Houge from the Albert Lea ICE jail, writing:
“Clear evidence of viewpoint targeting … without rebuttal evidence the record supports a finding that petitioner’s speech, not his past misdemeanor, brought him to the government’s attention for enforcement.” This is what democracy looks like plus the protections provided by our constitution are phenomenal. This is how we end this march toward fascism.
Instead of supporting the ACLU defense of Mr. Houge and Judge Blackwell’s decision, Mr. Finstad did nothing. This looks like Finstad supports allowing fascist behavior to proceed with impunity in his first congressional district.
When will Finstad speak out against the autocratic and corrupt behaviors of someone who aids and abets our enemy — the communist Putin? This looks like Finstad is allowing fascism, corruption and treason to proceed with impunity. Clearly, Finstad will not do his job to protect any of us from fascism attacks by ICE, their paid vigilantes or retaliation by Trump appointees.
Nobel Peace Prize winner Oleksandra Matviichuk, representing the Center for Civil Liberties, warns America that all fascist acts against her democratic Ukraine must be challenged as the acts of violence are happening to avoid allowing relentless unbelievable levels of cruelty as something to simply get used to.
Don’t allow yourself to get used to fascism. Make the challenges. Stay focused so we can together as ordinary people join the judges to stop fascism now. Stay focused.
