Our community is one step closer to being brutalized now that Congressman Brad Finstad voted with the Republican majority for steep cuts to Medicaid, SNAP benefits and Pell grants. Cuts to Medicare would also be triggered by the deficit spending in this cruel budget bill.

Why support so many deep cuts that would hit our rural communities hardest? Feckless Finstad acts like we sent him to Washington to pamper billionaires.

Finstad is prioritizing huge tax cuts for the obscenely wealthy over basic programs, services and opportunities for the people in our district. Finstad does not have our backs.

Money is like manure — it does a lot more good when it is spread around than when it is piled up. Finstad is aiding President Trump in pulling wealth out of our district to reward the billionaire elites who bought front row seats on Inauguration Day.

The consequences of MAGA cuts will hurt rural communities like ours the most. In contrast, Democratic majorities in Congress made substantive new investments in rural areas during the first two years of Biden’s term.

If you’re an average rural citizen, you’re nowhere near rich enough to benefit from voting for Republicans like Finstad. It’s much more likely going to feel like you got dealt a knuckle sandwich.
