The Albert Lea Public Library on Thursday hosted Isaiah Foster of The Magic of Isaiah as part of its summer reading program.

According to library staff, this was made possible by the Friends of the Library book sale.

Foster, a Wisconsin-based children’s entertainer, performed a book-themed show with a lot of room for audience participation.

In addition to performing tricks, Foster spoke about the importance of reading and using your imagination. This corresponded to the summer reading program’s theme, “Reading Colors Your Imagination.”

Foster talked about beginning his magic career by checking out books at his local library as a child, and even performed a trick with a giant purple crayon in reference to “Harold and the Purple Crayon.”

It was a fun afternoon for toddlers, school age children and parents alike.
