EN(dur)ANCE by Robin Gudal
As I sit at my laptop to write today, my mind is bouncing all over. I have so much to say, and yet the thoughts are not all connecting to make a conscience theme.
The past months at the Gudal household have been very busy. I often think, “Well, it’s keeping us young!”
That is until my body screams: “Remember you’re not 30 anymore!”
Though it is past Memorial Day, I want to thank all the families that have sacrificed so much for freedom.
May is also a time for graduation. We have a special graduate this year in our lives: a young man that has been our “Saturday helper” these past years. It has been so fun to watch him go from knowing nothing about a hammer to helping Greggy transform a park model into an amazing cabin on our hobby farm, among many other projects he has helped with.
We have had many good talks and delicious meals. I couldn’t be prouder of you, Dakota.
We have a family member moving across the country, and thus we have been helping with the littles a lot. We get to be in their world of wonder.
The two-year-old told me recently, “It happens” as things don’t always go according to plan. She took it in stride, and Nana was reminded of that, too.
The career hat I wear is ministry, and summer is a time of camps, peaches and managing Wilderness Prayer Center.
The weeks fly by!
The next thing I know, we’ll be planning for fall.
As all these thoughts and activities swirl in the air, I desire to be a grounded person, connected to the one true source of contentment, and purpose: Jesus!
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” — Philippians 4:13, NIV
We all have calendars, activities, quiet or lonely moments, joys and even hardships in life, so as I sign off this week, I want to encourage you to embrace the season in front of you. Find your purpose and be present.
“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” — 2 Thessalonians 3:16, NIV
Robin (Beckman) Gudal is intentional in life, a wife, momma, nana, friend and a flawed and imperfect follower of Jesus.
