A Wells man was killed Saturday night after a motorcycle crash in rural Wells.

Alan Richard Knutson, 46, was reportedly driving a 2008 Kawasaki ZX1400C sport motorcycle northbound on 600th Avenue in Faribault County when he failed to turn for the eastbound curve, continued northbound off the roadway, entered the ditch and was ejected from the motorcycle, according to a press release.

The release stated the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about the crash, at 600th Avenue and 195th Street northeast of Wells, at about 11:55 p.m. Knutson was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.

Assisting at the scene were the Wells Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Wells Fire Department and Wells Community Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol.
