The Albert Lea Anglers celebrated Father’s Day weekend with a special family fishing tournament, encouraging youth anglers to team up with a parent or guardian — male or female — for a fun and competitive outing on the water.
Participants had the option to fish solo or alongside an adult family member, with the adult’s catches counting toward the Albert Lea Angler’s total. The tournament featured two categories: a five-fish stringer of bluegill and a three-fish stringer of northern pike.
After a weekend of casting lines and reeling in excitement, the results were as follows:
Northern pike winners:
- 1st place: Andrew Westeng, 101.25 inches
- 2nd place: Jaxon Torrez, 98.25 inches
Bluegill winners:
- 1st place: Emma Mortenson, 45.25 inches
- 2nd place: Shelby Page, 44.25 inches
- The Albert Lea Anglers continue to promote youth engagement in the outdoors and family bonding through fishing.
