The Fourth of July in Albert Lea will be full of festivities with the July Jamboree from July 3 through 6.
Food trucks will be in the North Broadway parking lot for the span of the Jamboree, with the first major event taking place being the annual Third of July Parade.
The parade begins at 6 p.m., starting at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds and traveling south down Bridge Avenue and then west on Fountain Street, ending at Central Park.
This year’s parade grand marshal will be Albert Lea Mayor Rich Murray, and the theme is “Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present and Marching Into the Future.”
At 7 p.m., the Bayside Water Ski Team will perform on Edgewater Bay, and the weekly Thursdays on Fountain concert in Fountain Lake Park, featuring Melissa Schulz Music, will begin at 7:30 p.m. The evening wraps up with a block party at Harold’s Bar at 9 p.m.
On the Fourth of July, the Independence Day Weekend Flea Market begins from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Skyline Plaza. Admission is free. The market will continue on Saturday and Sunday at the same times.
The Bayside Water Ski Team will perform again at 1 p.m. on Edgewater Bay, and the annual car show will take place from 1 to 4 p.m., on North Broadway, with registration opening at noon.
Food trucks will open at 6 p.m. at Frank Hall Park, and the Pelican Breeze will cruise Albert Lea Lake from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and again from 9 to 10:30 p.m.
From 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., there will be a street dance at 112 on Broadway with Papa Greezy performing, and the Albert Lea Community Band will perform at 8 p.m. at Fountain Lake Park.
Fireworks will begin at dusk from the same location as in 2024 west of the Blazing Star Landing between Fountain and Albert Lea lakes.
On July 5, there will be a boat parade around Fountain Lake at 3 p.m., starting at the Hatch Bridge and moving counterclockwise around the lake. People are invited to set up their chairs to watch from the shore.
There will be a contest for participating boats.
A third Pelican Breeze cruise will take place at 1:30 p.m. starting from Frank Hall Park.
