MBT Bank in Lake Mills, along with the Hanson Family Foundation, selected Freeborn County 4-H as one of the recipients from this round of applications. They granted $5,000 to 4-H to be able to upgrade equipment in the food stand at the county fairgrounds, which goes by the name of the Cloverstand.
This donation allows the 4-H program to continue to offer quality experiences for their 4-Hers to experience real world situations, according to a press release. The Cloverstand allows 4-Hers to work in a restaurant type setting by interacting with customers, taking orders, making change, observing how a busy kitchen operates, multitasking food orders, serving beverages and maintaining customer service.
Many youth take this experience and are able to apply and obtain a job in the restaurant industry. Helping to give them quality equipment to work with during this experience is part of MBT Bank’s core values for community involvement. This helps their 4-H program to prosper, and the groups are happy to be a part of this.
