Riverland Community College announced the appointment of Melissa (Missy) Delikat as the college’s new dean of students, effective Tuesday.

Melissa Delikat

Delikat brings more than a decade of leadership experience in student affairs, academic advising, career development and teaching. A first-generation college graduate and former Running Start student, she earned her doctorate in community college leadership and has dedicated her career to advancing student success through inclusive, student-centered practices.

Prior to joining Riverland, Delikat served as director of the Center for Career & Calling at Saint Martin’s University. There, she led career services, supervised professional staff and managed a multimillion-dollar Title III grant to expand student support programs. Her work has consistently bridged policy, student advocacy and institutional development.

“Missy’s leadership philosophy aligns strongly with Riverland’s mission to put students first,” said Riverland President Kat Linaker. “She brings a thoughtful, collaborative and holistic approach to student support services, and cross-departmental teamwork, all essential to the students she’ll serve.”

Delikat will be based at the Austin campus but will support at all three locations.
