Genevieve Josephine Kruger was born on May 31, 1934, at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, the daughter of Louis and Anne (Vomacka) Chapek, Oakland Township. She was a 1952 graduate of Austin High School. On June 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to William E. Kruger at Oakland Lutheran Church and resided in Albert Lea. In 1962 Genevieve and William moved to rural Conger. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Conger, the WELCA and Miriam Circle. She served in various capacities in the church and enjoyed the fellowship with her church family. She had been a past employee of the Register of Deeds in Austin, county recorder in Albert Lea, Wilson and Company Office, Albert Lea, Albert Lea Abstract Company and Albert Lea Medical Center. Genevieve treasured family gatherings, reading, swimming laps, walking and recently found pleasure in learning to play hymns on the organ. She took pride in canning vegetables and fruits from her husband’s garden and orchard to share with her family.
