Dawn and Jason Richling, of Fairfax, Va., announce the birth of a daughter, Sophie Anne, on Aug. 4, 2011. Sophie weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long. She joins a sister, Eva Marie.

Rachel and Chris Lawson, of Emmons, announce the birth of a son, Garrett Lowell Lawson, on Aug. 1, 2011, in Albert Lea. Garrett weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. He joins siblings Gavin and Ethan.
