Burglary suspects arrested

Police arrested a man and woman Wednesday they believe have been involved in at least a dozen burglaries on the outer limits of Albert Lea and just outside the city limits.

The two people were charged Thursday in Freeborn County District Court.

Arturo Maldonado Ochoa was charged with transporting stolen property and driving after revocation. Misty Star Possehl has been charged with fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine.

 

Woman arrested for alleged theft

Police arrested Stephanie Marie Talamantes on allegations of gross misdemeanor theft from the Wendy’s till at 2:27 a.m. Thursday.

 

Window broken out

A window was reported broken out of the side door of 1147 S. Broadway Ave. at 9:59 a.m. Thursday, according to police. The window was reportedly broken sometime overnight.

 

Wire stolen

Copper wire was reported stolen from 20160 800th Ave., Hayward, at 2:26 p.m. Thursday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Jewelry stolen

Jewelry was reported taken from a purse and residence at 1025 Frank Hall Drive at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, police stated.

 

Two cited for shoplifting

Police cited Desiree Amber McPeake, 18, and Derreck Joseph Friday, 21, for shoplifting from Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave. Both were cited, booked and released, according to police.

 

Man cited for burning violation

Theron John Gjersvik, 51, was cited for burning during a burning permit suspension at 69992 260th St., Alden, at 5:22 p.m. Thursday, according to Sheriff’s Office reports.
