Motorists will be able to drive on the new U.S. Highway 14 alignment between Waseca and Owatonna beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The three-year reconstruction of Highway 14 began in July 2009 and also includes construction of the new interchange at Interstate 35 and Highway 14.

Highway 14 is an interregional corridor that connects New Ulm, Mankato, Waseca, Owatonna and Rochester. The expansion of Highway 14 to a four-lane roadway will improve safety and mobility along the corridor.
