Downtown ought to tout Blue Zones

I am very much in agreement with the editor when he says we need to take ourselves out of the 1960s and move into the 21st century with the downtown streetscape plan. He also suggests that the Art Center should move. These are both good suggestions for downtown.

I hope that the editor would also agree that, with the help of the Blue Zones people, the National Vitality Center should be elevated to its full national and economic potential. I was at the last meeting of the Blue Zones people at the Albert Lea High School. They donated over $50,000 to get the center up and running. Right now, there isn’t even a sign for the National Vitality Center on the front of the Jacobson Building.

I encourage the community leaders to help make the Vitality Center a success for the sake of the downtown area and the city of Albert Lea as a whole. Thank you.
